Many of us have a tendency to put others first, but in doing so, we can sometimes neglect our relationship with ourselves. Let me be your advocate in showing you a kinder, compassionate way to move towards healing and wholeness. Whether you have a specific concern or seek a reflective space for personal growth, my goal is to plant seeds of hope to help you flourish.
As a therapist, I like to work collaboratively with my clients to support and strengthen what is already working and bring insight into areas and parts of ourselves that need more attention. We will explore patterns that may be affecting your relationships, learn skills to manage difficult emotions, heal early wounds and build on inner resources to support a more grounded, integrated you.
Healing is possible.
“Thank you for trying EMDR with me! I was amazed by how well and quickly it worked! It was such a powerful intervention. But I also appreciated how holistically you approached treatment integrating many different approaches.”
The nervous system evolved to respond to predators and ensure survival through mobilizing the impulses to fight, flee or freeze. In modern times, with no lions to run from, the nervous system can become unbalanced by everyday stressors and startling events. Unprocessed traumatic experiences can live in our bodies long past the time of the original occurrence.
I work extensively with a therapeutic technique known as EMDR, which is clinically proven to be an effective treatment for Anxiety, Depression and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
My trauma-informed lens is heavily influenced by the works of Bessel Van de Kolk, MD, Janina Fischer, PhD, Francine Shapiro, PhD, Peter Levine, PhD and Richard Schwartz, PhD.
